This is Coach Gooris’ sixth year teaching and coaching at Libertyville High School. Coach Gooris is an alumn of Creighton University in Omaha, Nebraska. At Creighton Coach Gooris earned a marketing degree and was a four year letter winner for the school's baseball team.  As a member of the baseball team Coach Gooris was part of two NCAA regional teams in 1999 and 2000, and was a two-time Honorable Mention All-Conference Player in the Missouri Valley Conference during those years. Coach Gooris left Creighton in the schools top ten in several pitching categories including: career wins, single season wins, career strikeouts, single season strike outs, games started, and single season winning percentage. He was drafted by the Cincinnati Reds in the 8th round of the 2000 MLB draft but decided to return to Creighton. After graduating Creighton with a degree in marketing, Gooris was signed as a free agent by the San Diego Padres and played one year in their minor league system reaching the AA level. After his playing career, Gooris went back to school at North Park University to earn his teaching certificate. While at North Park Gooris was the assistant coach for North Park’s baseball team. Coach Gooris teaches physical education and Drivers Education at LHS.  Recently, Coach Gooris earned his Type 75 Masters Degree through Concordia University Chicago.
