The social work mission is to emplower students to increase their self-esteem, communication, problem solving and self advocacy skills in order to meet life's challenges. It is our goal to enhance the students' educational experience by promoting lifelong learning and the development in the areas of social emotional intelligence and interpersonal relationships.
We believe:
- All students have access to emotional and mental health support in the school setting.
- In building positive and ongoing relationships with families and students.
- In recognizing diversity and the individual learning in all students.
- In developing relationships with community resources, and linking families and students to local community service agencies.
- In seeking to enhance effective social and emotional functioning and the well being of all students through a "strengths-based model".
- It is essential to enhance and promote educational, emotional and social needs of students and their families to help them achieve their full potential within their home, school and community.
