Student Assistance Program (SAP)
SAP Philosophy
Today, there are a number of external factors that can facilitate or hinder a student's level of success in high school. Pressures to excel, changing family dynamics, peer associations, media influences, and exposure to alcohol and other drugs are just a few facets that students are often exposed to which can interfere with their efforts to grow and learn. The Student Assistance Program's objective is to provide and strengthen the school's community with the resources necessary to assist students and families in negotiating today's challenges. A key component to the program is to form a partnership between school personnel, parents, students and community providers in order to address the areas of prevention, intervention, and student support.
