On behalf of Libertyville High School and the Athletic Department, we would like to welcome you to Libertyville High School.  We truly believe that athletics are an integral part of the educational program for the students.  The Athletic Department will provide every opportunity for the student-athlete to participate in athletics, and also provide the proper facilities and educated coaches.

Libertyville High School has a tradition of producing competitive teams that also display good sportsmanship.  As you become a Wildcat, we encourage you to become involved in Athletics through coaching, working or attending athletic events.  In 2008-2009, there were 1,110 student-athletes that made a commitment to athletics.

If you have any questions, or if we can help in any way, please contact us.

Athletic Forms

The 2009-2010 Athletic Participation Cards will be mailed at the beginning of June to returning LHS Athletes and all incoming freshmen.  Parents/Guardians and students must sign the Participation Card and the IHSA Consent Form.  The Participation Card includes the physical form, however, you may also submit a separate physical form.  All incoming freshmen will be required to submit physical forms to the Nurse's Office.  The National Center for Drug Free Sport will provide testing services for the IHSA.

The Code of Conducts should be reviewed and read by the Athletes and Parents.  Your signature on the Athletic Participation Card is confirmation that you have read, understood and agreed to the Code of Conducts.

NSC Sportsmanship Mission

Good Sportsmanship is the attitude and behavior that exemplifies positive support for the interscholastic programs of the North Suburban Conference as well as for the individuals who participate in these programs.  People involved in all facets of the interscholastic program are expected to demonstrate respect for others and display good sportsmanship.

One of the goals of the North Suburban Conference for interscholastic competition is to teach important values while enriching the educational experiences of young men and women.  Good sportsmanship is one of those values.

Participants Expectations

  • Accept and understand the seriousness of your responsibility and the privilege of representing your school and your community.
  • Learn the rules of the game thoroughly and discuss them with parents, fans, and fellow students.

  • Wish opponents good luck before the game and congratulate them in victory or defeat.
  • Respect the integrity and judgment of the game officials.

Spectator Expectations

  • High School athletics are learning experiences for students, and sometimes mistakes are made.  Praise student athletes in their attempt to improve themselves as students, athletes and individuals.
  • A ticket is a privilege to observe the contest, not a license to verbally assault others.
  • Learn the rules of the game
  • Show respect for the opposing players, coaches, spectators, and support groups.
  • Respect the integrity and judgment of the game officials.
  • Recognize and show appreciation for an outstanding play by either team.
